Overview of Workshop:

There is abundant evidence showing that people in communities with access to parks, sporting grounds and other open spaces are more likely to be physically active. In this context increasing physical activity is directly linked with the health of the environment and the maintenance of adequate parks and open space. It is essential to develop open space strategies that reflect the needs of diverse communities and inspire greater appreciation of natural and cultural values as the foundation for healthy communities.

The aim of the workshop is to increase awareness of and discover practical applications for the planning of open space in new suburbs and in areas where densities are experiencing increasing growth. Discover how innovative programs, projects and new partnerships are a key to planning for and activating places and spaces to encourage community engagement in parks for health and wellbeing outcomes.

The main aims of this workshop is to present the basic theoretical framework and concepts underlying mediation and moderation analyses; demonstrate and practice how these can be conducted using various standard statistical software; and provide recommendations for correctly interpreting findings and reporting them in a scientific article.
