Call for Abstracts – Submissions have now closed
We now welcome submissions of abstracts for oral and poster presentations in any area of behavioral nutrition and/or physical activity research and practice, for the 2011 ISBNPA annual meeting. The conference language is English. All abstracts for the ISBNPA 2011 meeting must be submitted online.
The deadline for the abstract submission is December 10, 2010. Abstracts can be submitted as either paper or poster presentations. The deadline for late-breaking abstracts is March 14, 2011 and late-breaking abstracts will only be accepted as poster presentations.
All abstracts should be submitted through the ISBNPA abstract side at http://abstracts.isbnpa.org/ by 10th December 2010.

ABSTRACT GUIDELINES:
1. Complete the online form carefully. Please note that incorrectly completed forms will not be considered for review.
2. The word limit for the abstract, excluding title and author details, is 250 words. Submissions should adhere to the format detailed below (including headings) as closely as possible.
3. Selection of submissions to oral/poster sessions will be made at the discretion of the abstracts review committee. Abstracts submitted for oral presentations may be assigned to poster sessions.
4. First authors are expected to be the presenter, unless a request for a change of presenting author has been otherwise sent to Julie Rankine at julie.rankine@deakin.edu.au by May 1st.
5. Before submitting, you will be given the opportunity to review all of the information you have provided. Please note that no changes in the title, authorship or text of the abstracts can be made after they have been submitted.
6. You will be notified by email upon receipt of your abstract. Decisions regarding abstract acceptance will be sent to you by Monday, January 31, 2011, after completion of the review process. No information regarding acceptance will be available before that date.
7. Once submitted, your abstract will be assigned a unique tracking number. Please include this number in any correspondence with ISBNPA regarding your submission. You can track the status of your abstract on the website under 'my abstracts'.
Any requests to withdraw a submission may be made in writing no later than April 29, 2011 to Julie Rankine at julie.rankine@deakin.edu.au.
All submissions must adhere to the format given below (including headings) as closely as possible:
Abstract:
The following information should be included in the content of the abstract.
Purpose: State the primary purpose of the study, including the main research questions or hypotheses addressed. Emphasize the innovative aspect of the research.
Methods: Quantita tive studies should include design, participants, measures and analyses. Qualitative studies should include a reference to the approach being adopted (e.g. discourse analysis, grounded theory) and describe the method of data generation, (e.g. interviews, transcripts of conversations, written accounts). Reviews should include details of the procedures adopted (e.g. literature search, inclusion/exclusion criteria and methods of analysis).
Results/Findings: Quantitative studies should include a summary of the results, which can contain numerical data, qualitative studies should include an indication of the main results of the analysis (e.g. examples of themes, categories, responses, discourses to be reported). Reviews should include a summary of the main findings that will be discussed in the paper. This section should present specific findings, rather than suggesting that ‘results will be discussed’.
Conclusions: Some discussion of the possible contribution to, or implications for, the advancement of behavioral nutrition and/or physical activity knowledge, methods or practice.
Please note: There is a 250 word limit for each individual abstract; These abstracts are to be submitted by Friday, December 10, 2010. If the abstract is accepted you will receive notice of acceptance by January 31, 2011.
